TRESSA DEGIORGI began doing hair in 1998 at the age of 17.
She stumbled into hairdressing via an interest in special effects makeup, brought on by a life long obsession with film and drawing. She chose to first focus on cutting and hairstyling, initially apprenticing at Toni & Guy. For 2 years with T&G, Tressa put to work her passion for cutting, along with specialty & avante-garde styling. She was often used as an Art Director for shows and to teach about upstyling and fantasy styling. Tressa moved to NYC in 2005 to establish a freelance career. Her editorial work can be seen in WWD, Vogue.it, Bon Appetit Magazine, Food & Wine, Time Out Magazine, Noi.se, Chaos, Un Chin, Clam & Deutsch Magazine. In her time in NYC Tressa has had the privilege of assisting for and learning from some exceptionally talented and accomplished masters of the craft, namely Orlando Pita, Luigi Morenu as well as all three of the ION studio team. Tressa's history includes varied projects that range anywhere from a Beyonce video, to an editorial in Vogue, to a season of CNBC’s The Filthy Rich Guide. She has also collaborated on many shows and promotional events over many seasons on the circuit of Mercedes Benz fashion week. To name a few: Gucci, Tocca, Versace, Hogan, Vera Wang, Michael Kors, Kristianne, Binetti, Jolibe, Ruben Singer, Doo.ri, Victoria's Secret, DVF, Target, Carolina Hererra, Escada, Nanette Lepore, Robert Gellar, Coventry, Akris, Vivienne Tam and Tommy Hilfiger. She continues to see clients by appointment only at a private studio in SoHo and also enjoys contributing her expertise during wedding season.
